About Us at Muritai Manor
Your Hosts – Alex & Julia Hunter
We are relatively recent arrivals in New Zealand, having moved here from the UK for a better quality of life. We have travelled extensively in Europe, North America, India, Malaysia, Southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand over the years and we decided that New Zealand was the place that we would most like to live – wonderful scenery, friendly people (and a pretty good rugby team).
Our plan was to run a B & B when we could find the place that was right for us. Our first base was Timaru, where Julia has relatives. We spent a lot of time looking around the South Island before deciding that Nelson, and Muritai Manor in particular, was the place we wanted to make our home, which we share with Melody, our cat. We have a small flock of pure breed hens, which are free to roam the gardens during the day and provide the delicious fresh eggs we serve at breakfast. We hope that you will enjoy staying here as much as we enjoy living here.

How To Find Us
Muritai Manor is 7 kilometres north of Nelson City on the road to Blenheim.
Travelling from Nelson City / Airport: Take Highway 6 following the signs for Blenheim – Picton - Interisland Ferry. Muritai Manor is on the right hand side approximately 500 metres after Clifton Terrace Primary School.
Travelling from Blenheim / Havelock to Nelson: Muritai Manor is about 7 kilometres after Hira settlement approximately 500 metres beyond the Atawhai Community Church on the left hand side. (Nelson is about two hours drive from the Picton Ferry terminal).
