Relaxation: This one-time family home has spacious rooms, high ceilings, gleaming native timber floors and fine fireplaces. Having been lovingly restored and extended, the four in-house guest bedrooms retain the ambience of yesterday whilst having modern facilities including en-suite bathrooms and free wireless internet. The Garden Room (also with en suite) is nestled among shrubs and trees. At the end of your busy day, relax in the spa pool, cool off in the solar-heated swimming pool or simply enjoy the sea and mountain views.
Fine Food: No stay in Nelson would be complete without sampling the region’s superb produce. That’s why delicious food is a big part of the Muritai Manor experience. You’ll wake to the smell of homemade bread, coffee and a hearty breakfast which may include fresh eggs from our own free range hens, bacon, local bratwurst sausages, blueberry pancakes, and in summer: luscious Nelson berry-fruits.
Location: Set in a semi-rural, seafront location, your Nelson, New Zealand accommodation is only a few minutes drive from Nelson city centre, renowned for its eclectic Saturday Market, buzzing café bars, restaurants and funky art galleries. Muritai Manor Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located to explore the wider region within easy reach of three spectacular National Parks - Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes and Kahurangi. There are many things to do in this scenic location: hiking, horse riding, sea kayaking, fishing and sailing and discovering art galleries and local wineries.
Hospitality: You will receive a very warm welcome to this Nelson B&B from your hosts Alex and Julia Hunter, who are happy to help you plan and arrange activities in and around Nelson. We invite guests to join us to sample local wine, beer and nibbles each evening.
History: By staying at Muritai Manor, you will experience a real slice of history. Many early European Settlers first set foot in New Zealand at Wakefield Quay in Nelson. Built in 1903 by local builder John Dolamore, this beautiful Edwardian home, tells its own unique story.
